Change to Appointment System

Dear Patients,

The practice is making big changes to our appointment system with the aim of improving accessibility for all. This is going to involve a shift in emphasis towards more prebookable appointments and away from what you may have heard of as the ‘triage’ list.  The changes will be implemented from Monday 14^th September.

• Please call between 8-10am if you have an issue necessitating urgent same day care, not for chronic issues.
• Please call between 10am and 5pm to book a routine appointment. We will endeavour to keep wait times as low as possible.
• Please also book practice nurse/healthcare assistant appointments and phone for acute prescription requests between 10am and 5pm.
• If you call between 8-10am for a non-urgent issue, you will be asked to call back after 10am in order to keep the phone lines free.

In order for the new system to be a success, it will require patients to adhere to these instructions so that access is fair for all.  In order to avoid backlogs/long wait times forming, the appointment diary will open 2 weeks in advance on a rolling basis.

We appreciate this will be a big change – thank you for your patience and understanding, we hope this will be a positive change and improve patient care.
